The Roots · The Milestone · The Legacy
From dirt floor to NBA courts.
"One day, I will play on an NBA court." It was a crazy goal — I didn't even have a US visa.
In the Philippines, basketball is life. Nearly every street corner has a hoop. We played until the sun went down — in tsinelas, or barefoot. We turned trash cans into rims, crumpled paper into a ball, and yelled "JORDAN!" on every shot.
By God's grace that childhood dream has now been fulfilled many times over — the Staples Center, the United Center, Intuit Dome. Places I once only saw on television, where legends made history.
When God opens a door for me, I hold it open for someone else too. The greatest legacy isn't the courts we played on — it's the imprint we leave on people's lives. Dream on.
